DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- The 26th annual Living Memorial Ceremony is being hosted Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. at the Dobbins POW/MIA Memorial Park. The event is being hosted by the Air Force Sergeants Association and Dobbins Chiefs Group.
Guest Speaker is Ronald Pearce, who was shot down with the 405th Squadron of the British Royal Air Force on July 31, 1942, south of Dusseldorf, Germany. Pearce jumped out of his crippled plane and began a two-month ordeal of escape and evasion that eventually took him through Belgium, France and Spain before returning safely back to England.
This ceremony is limited to invited guests and base employees who have access onto the base.
