Program Manager Lightweight Tactical Vehicles (PM LTV) develops, acquires, produces, fields, and sustains safe, reliable, effective and supportable light tactical vehicles and trailer systems for Marines worldwide.
The JLTV is a joint Army/Marine Corps program to procure the next generation of light tactical vehicles and companion trailers. JLTVs will improve the mobility and payload of the light tactical vehicle fleet, while providing increased survivability through modular protection within the weight constraints of the expeditionary force. The joint service program will replace a portion of the Army and Marine Corps High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) fleet.
The HMMWV provides the Fleet Marine Force with a light tactical vehicle for command and control, troop transport, light cargo transport, shelter carrier, towed weapons prime mover, and weapons platform missions throughout all areas of operation. The HMMWV will eventually be replaced by the JLTV.
The UTV is a diesel-powered, all-terrain vehicle with a payload of up to 1,500 pounds. It's capable of carrying up to two stretchers for casualty evacuation, and provides an ideal sustainment capability platform for foot-mobile forces. The UTV is transportable in MV-22 tilt-rotor aircraft, CH-53E/K, and CH-47 helicopters.
The Light Tactical Trailers (M1102-MCC and M1102-H) are designed to be towed behind the HMMWV and support a variety of operations, providing ground units with a 4,200 lbs. towed gross vehicle weight lift capability across the HMMWV mission profile. The trailers are capable of operations on all types of roads, cross-country terrain and in all weather conditions.
