Benjamin, a rising eighth-grader at Quantico/Middle High School, snaps a photo of a weight-bearing tower during Quantico’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Academy on Friday. During the competition, weight was applied to the students’ hand-built balsa wood towers to determine which tower had the highest strength-to-weight ratio.

Next Generation Troposcatter

August 20, 2024 – MARINE CORPS BASE TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. – Marines with the Marine Corps Communication-Electronics School (MCCES) set up the Next Generation Troposcatter (NGT) satellite at a New Equipment Training event in Twentynine Palms, CA August 20, 2024. MCCES is the first unit to receive NGT and will train future Marines on the system.

In August, Marine Corps Systems Command began fielding NET to the Marine Corps Communication-Electronics School.
