CLARK AIR BASE, Philippines â?? U.S. Marine Master Sgt. Daniel P. Furiak and Peter Strinden perform jump together out of a U.S. Marine Corps KC-130 Hercules aircraft during a High Altitude-Low Opening jump Feb. 27 as part of Exercise Balikatan 2006. HALO is a tactical jumping technique in which the parachutist opens their parachute at a low altitude after free-falling for a period of time. Furiak is the paraloft chief for 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. Strinden is the parachutes project officer for Marine Corps Systems Command.
