Marine Corps Systems Command

Equipping Our Marines

MCB Quantico, Va.

Operating Forces Support (OFS)

Support Center personnel are available...7days/ 24 hours/ 365 days

Toll Free:  1-800-808-7634
Local:  (760) 725-0533

The mission of the OFS is to provide continuously, distributed technical support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) systems, in order to optimize those systems as force multipliers in assisting Marines to win battles. While the OFS focus is on the needs of the Operating Forces and Program Mangers, it offers technical assistance to all C4I system users across the entire Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Government and all U.S. Foreign National Allies.

OFS provides its customers with onsite system support by sending Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to provide over-the-shoulder technical assistance to units that are either currently deployed or in the process of preparing for a training exercise or deployment. OFS routinely supports local small unit training exercises, Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) Courses, Mojave Viper Exercises, Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) workups and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) deployments.

OFS support includes system hardware setup, software installation and configuration, operational planning and employment recommendations, in-depth system troubleshooting, up to date documentation and software/firmware file distribution and delivery of user feedback from the operational forces to MARCORSYSCOM system program managers. This support is delivered to C4I system users both remotely and through direct, onsite customer interaction by leveraging two lines of effort : Operating Forces Technical System Support Center (OFTSSC) and Deployed Support Teams (DST).

Operating Forces Technical System Support Center (OFTSSC)

The OFTSSC provides its customers with remote technical assistance by facilitating online access to supported system documentation, system software and offering live interaction with system subject matter experts (SMEs), via phone, online chat, and email. If a resolution to a customer problem is not immediately available, OFTSSC personnel will actively work to obtain a resolution by elevating customer issues to MCTSSA support engineers, system vendors, Marine Corps Systems Command program managers or other commercial or DoD customer support agencies.

Deployed Support Teams (DST)

MARCORSYSCOM continually fields numerous complex C4I systems. Marine Forces currently lack the MOS structure to operate these systems effectively. Additionally, high operational tempo and personnel rotations prevent units from maintaining experienced Marines with requisite technical skills to maintain and utilize these systems. The MCTSSA Deployed Support Branch partially fills this void by providing task organized technical support teams comprised of Marines, Civil Servants and Contractors, during:

  • Contingencies

  • Exercises

  • Operations

  • Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) work-ups

DST assists MEU operations by focusing on Deploying Group Systems Integration Test (DGSIT) events, Problem Definition (PD) and Final Integration Test (FIT) events.
