U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Stephen R. Abernathy, a Kernersville, N.C., native and fire-team leader with 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division (2d MARDIV), fires an M240-B machine gun during live-fire attack on Range G-29, Camp Lejeune, N.C., March 5, 2021. This evolution included platoon level day and night live-fire training to increase proficiencies in dynamic and complex infantry skills. 2d MARDIV generates lethal forces that are able to support the full spectrum of operations around the world.
