Long Range Fires

Ground Launched Cruise Missles

GLCM provides a longer range/higher explosive missile and varied methods of attack to the Integrated Naval Force. The Marine Corps plans to create a Long-Range Missile (LMSL) firing capability as part of force modernization. The LRF system is composed of a LRF Launcher, Leader Vehicle, LRF Command and Control System (C2), and LRF Resupply and Reload System (R2).

High Mobility Artillery Rocket System

The High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) is a C-130 transportable, wheeled, indirect fire, rocket/missile launcher capable of firing all rockets and missiles in the current and future Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Family of Munitions (MFOM). A HIMARS system includes one launcher, two Re-Supply Systems (RSS), HIMARS Support Kit and the MFOM.

AFATDS Family of Systems (FoS) consists of two major efforts: Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) and the Mobile Tactical Shelter (MTS). AFATDS is the primary automated fires command and control system that integrates all supporting arms assets within the MAGTF. The MTS is a shelter mounted on a High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) which provides for the integration of resident communications systems and protection from environmental factors.

Navy/Marine Corps Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System

The Navy/Marine Corps Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System (NMESIS) is a Ground Based Anti-Ship Missile (GBASM) capability. This system is the Marine Corps’ number one modernization priority. NMESIS consists of a remotely operated JLTV-based launcher outfitted with two Naval Strike Missiles.
