Marines will interact face-to-face throughout the week with employees from Marine Corps Systems Command and vendors that support the Marine Corps.

At Modern Day Marine, the world's largest military exposition focusing on enhanced capabilities for expeditionary forces, Marines can see the gear MCSC program offices are fielding and will field in the future. Hundreds of companies that support Marine Corps land, air and sea operations also will show off their technology to give the warfighter greater capability.

MCSC is the Department of the Navy’s systems command for Marine Corps ground weapon and information technology systems. It is also the Marine Corps commandant's agent for acquisition and sustainment of warfighting systems and equipment.

MCSC’s Combat Support Systems is showing its Expeditionary Field Kitchen. The EFK can feed up to 500 warfighters within three hours, including cleanup. It has the capability to roast, grill, boil, braise, pan fry and bake foods. The whole kitchen, contained in an 8-by-8-by-20 container, can be set up and taken down in 45 minutes.

PM CSS is also featuring its Arctic Shelter System. The shelter, which replaces a decades-old legacy shelter, can accommodate 15 Marines and their gear at temperatures down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit and up to 125 degrees. The tent can withstand sustained winds of 50 mph and gusts up to 55 mph.

In addition to the EFK and the Arctic Shelter System, other MCSC gear is on display—from body armor, to ammo, to equipment and clothes Marines use in the event of a chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear emergency.

The exhibit halls at Modern Day Marine are open from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday, exhibit halls will open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
