Automatic Test Equipment

The General Purpose Automatic Test Systems (GPATS) is a portable, automated testing unit that provides the capability to screen, test, and diagnose electronic Line Replaceable Units (LRU) and circuit card assemblies for a wide variety of weapons systems. When used in conjunction with the VEO-2 System, the GPATS can test a variety of Electro-Optic LRU. The GPATS portability provides deployable maintenance support and capabilities as far forward as practical.

Application Program Sets

  • AN/PSM-115, Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV) APS
  • AN/PSM-117, Optics APS
  • AN/PSM-118, Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) Chain Gun APS
  • AN/PSM-119, Lightweight Howitzer APS
  • AN/PSM-120, LAV Instrument Panel APS
  • AN/PSM-123, LAV-25A2 Turret Line LRU APS
  • AN/PSM-126, Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) APS
  • AN/PSM-129, SABER LRU APS
  • AN/PSM-130, LAV CCA APS
  • AN/TSM-223, LAV Anti-Tank Weapon System APS

The Ground Radio Maintenance Automatic Test Sets (GRMATS) is a self-contained, synthetic instrumentation platform used for automated & manual verification testing and fault detection & isolation, and repair of tactical radio LRUs. The test set contains the hardware and software necessary to test and verify quantitative performance measurements of transmitted RF power, receiver sensitivity, frequency accuracy, modulation/waveform metering, bit error rate and environmental RF noise levels.

Application Program Sets

  • AN/PSM-127, Ground Radio Application Program Set (GRAPS)
  • AN/PSM-131, Tactical Remote Sensor System (TRSS) APS
  • AN/TSM-221, Tactical Radio Intermediate Maintenance Activity APS (TRIAPS)

AN/USM-726, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Test Station
The CCA Test Station provides maintainers with an organic diagnostic troubleshooting capability that can isolate faults and facilitate repairs to individual circuit cards. Personnel to isolate deteriorated or failed electronic components to the lowest replaceable level use the CCA Test Station. The CCA Test Station has the capability to capture, digitize, and store analog signatures of known good components and once stored, they will always be available for reference whether testing similar CCAs/EMs or retesting the same CCA/EM. The saved analog signatures for an entire CCA can be stored as a Gold or Silver Disk test routine on compact disc/digital videodisc and distributed to other troubleshooting or maintenance facilities upon verification.

Electronic Maintenance Support System (EMSS)
The EMSS addresses important gaps in the execution of USMC maintenance missions and tasks. It provides maintainers with networked tools and electronic information, which enables sustained performance and readiness of weapons systems. It provides diagnostic capabilities, access to technical data, and access to GCSS-MC when connected to the MCEN-N.

Vehicle Automated Diagnostic System (VADS)
The VADS is a lightweight, portable diagnostic system that has three variants to test Engineering (VADS-E), Motor Transport (VADS-MT) and Ordinance (VADS-O) vehicles. Each variant provides electronic diagnostics associated with engine transmission, antilock brake systems, and central tire inflation systems.

AN/TSM-220 Power Supply Application Program Set
The AN/TSM-220 tests a wide variety of power supplies, battery chargers, and uninterruptable power supplies, and power conditioners. The AN/TSM-220 can perform both pre-programmed and user-defined, manual test routines.

Dearborn Protocol Adapter (DPA)
The DPA is designed to support testing of various vehicle diagnostic protocols. Power is provided by direct connection from the vehicle being tested.

Hand-Held Radio Test Set (HHRTS)
