Marine Corps product manager wins 2018 Red Ball Express Award By Ashley Calingo, PEO Land Systems | February 8, 2019 A product manager from Program Executive Officer Land Systems was recognized by the National Defense Industrial Association during an award ceremony at the NDIA Tactical Wheeled Vehicles Conference Feb. 4, in Monterey, California. Eugene Morin, product manager for Joint Light Tactical Vehicles, was recognized with NDIA’s 2018 Red Ball Express Award for his contributions to PEO Land Systems and the tactical wheeled vehicle community. At the time of his nomination, Morin served as product manager for the Legacy Light Program, and oversaw the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, Utility Task Vehicle and the Internally Transportable Vehicle programs. The Corps’ new Amphibious Combat Vehicle offers ‘significantly greater survivability, mobility’ than predecessor By Ashley Calingo, PEO Land Systems | January 28, 2019 The Marine Corps’ Amphibious Combat Vehicle program reached another milestone, proving the vehicle’s ability to deliver future combat power from ship to shore and follow-on objectives. Program Executive Officer Land Systems recently completed testing on the ACV, which proved the new vehicles' ability to not only take on challenging surf, but also complete a long swim from ship to shore and back. These major accomplishments facilitated the program moving from what was originally envisioned as an incremental approach, to one that will be known as the ACV family of vehicles, without the nomenclature of ACV 1.1 or ACV 1.2. The Marine Corps will start fielding the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) to Marines, following a decision made Dec. 12 by the Program Executive Officer Land Systems. The JLTV, a program led by the Army, will partially replace the Army and Marine Corps’ aging High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle fleet. The JLTV Family of Vehicles comes in different variants with multiple mission package configurations, all providing protected, sustained, networked mobility that balances payload, performance and protection across the full range of military operations. Harvested HMMWV parts will save Corps millions, increase survivability of JLTV By Monique Randolph, MCSC Office of Public Affairs and Communication | July 24, 2018 A harvesting effort by Program Executive Officer Land Systems and Marine Corps Systems Command could save the Corps millions and make one of its newest vehicles more survivable. The Gunner’s Protection Kit, managed by Infantry Weapons within MCSC’s Portfolio Manager Ground Combat Equipment Systems, is currently installed on High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles. As a cost-savings measure, the kits will be removed from HMMWVs and installed on Joint Light Tactical Vehicles as they are fielded to the fleet next year. Using harvested parts instead of buying new potentially saves the Corps more than $100 million. MORE

Marine Corps Systems Command awards contract to produce ACV By Kaitlin Kelly, MCSC Office of Public Affairs and Communication | June 19, 2018 Marine Corps Systems Command awarded a contract to produce Amphibious Combat Vehicles—a much-needed modernization to the Marine Corps’ ground combat element. Following a successful Milestone C decision by the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition, the contract options worth $198 million will allow BAE Systems to build 30 low rate production vehicles, which will start delivering in the fall of next year.
